Services

Free, confidential and safe services 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

  • Reception, support, accommodation;
  • Individual and/or group support sessions;
  • Information about rights and available resources;
  • Support and guidance in procedures (medical, social, legal)
  • Support services for women not using the accommodation option; 
  • 24/7 phone helpline service;
  • Post-accommodation follow-up;
  • Information and support for victim’s family and relatives;
  • Outreach activities (prevention, awareness-raising).

For the children

  • A youth counsellor is available to support and guide children and teens during their stay at the shelter;
  • Arrangements have been made with the school board to facilitate transfers to another school, if need be;
  • Post-shelter follow-up;
  • For women living at the shelter, a counsellor is available to supervise the children while the mother attends to procedures.

At Alternative pour Elles, counsellors are qualified to provide service in English or French to women and children on request.
